Hello. I’m Olaf Kruse, from Bielefeld University, and I’m heading there the group of Algae
Biotechnology & Bioenergy at the Center for Biotechnology CeBiTec.
We are experts in molecularly engineering microalgae, in particular, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, to develop, as we call it, green cell factories.
Our job at the SUN-PERFORM consortium is to improve light energy conversion by molecular engineering strategies.
And at the same time, to help establish the conversion of carbon built by photosynthesis, organic carbon into carbon products, in particular into fuels.
